KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri man is facing charges in the 2017 fatal shooting of Orland Gentry on Troost Avenue.
Luis A. Rivas, 23, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
According to the Jackson County Prosecutors office, a witness told police that Rivas admitted to killing Gentry near 50th and Troost in May 2018. Another witnesses also identified Gentry as the shooter. A third witness also identified him with 80 percent cetainty.
Prosecutors have requested a $250,000 bond.
