UPDATE, 8/23 | Police have identified the victim as DeAndre A. Goodwin of Kansas City, Missouri.
ORIGINAL STORY | A 24-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man died Monday afternoon in a head-on collision on Blue Parkway.
KCPD’s Accident Investigations Unit responded to the crash shortly before 3 p.m. in the 5900 block of Blue Parkway.
The investigation determined that a gold Chevrolet Cruze and white Chevrolet Suburban collided head-on in the eastbound lanes.
The deceased was driving the Cruze.
Two male occupants in the Suburban were transported to an area hospital and were listed in stable condition, according to a KCPD release.
Police are still investigating which vehicle crossed the centerline.
The man’s death marks the 47th motor vehicle fatality in KCMO so far in 2019.
