KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Jackson County Fire Protection District says 25 freight train cars derailed east of Warrensburg early this morning.
According to a news release, Union Pacific reported the derailment shortly after 4 a.m.
Approximately 25 cars derailed and are in a field between Missouri 13 Highway and NE 501 Road.
The Jackson County Fire Protection District says there were no injuries and no loss of containment of any hazardous materials.
All roads in the area are open.
