KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two different elections, two different timetables.

Next Tuesday leaves candidates running in November’s general election just one more month to make their pitch to voters.

Locally, incumbent Republican Rep. Kevin Yoder is facing off against Democratic challenger Sharice Davids to win the Kansas 3rd Congressional District seat.

41 Action News reporter Steven Dial recently sat down with both candidates to explore their personalities and their positions in the race.

In this week’s 41 Files, we break down those interviews and where the race goes from here.

We’ll post the full interviews next week.

We started the podcast, however, with an election where voters won't cast ballots until 2019.

On Tuesday, the presumed front-runner in the Kansas City, Missouri mayor’s race, Jason Kander, announced he was dropping out to focus on his mental health.

Reporter Cat Reid joined Taylor Hemness in the discussion.
