KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 44-year-old man was convicted Friday in Jackson County on charges related to sexual assault of a minor.
The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release that Eric McMillon was convicted of first-degree statutory rape with a victim younger than 12 years old and first-degree statutory sodomy with a victim younger than 12 years old.
Court documents state that KCPD officers responded to Children’s Mercy Hospital on March 3, 2017, to speak to a 5-year-old victim “of an alleged sodomy.” A May 2017 forensic interview with the 5 year old confirmed the allegations.
McMillon is expected to be sentenced Dec. 18.
