KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A five-year-old boy is reportedly in critical condition after being hit by a truck near Morrell Avenue and Monroe Avenue Sunday evening.
Officers were called to the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Police said a grey Dodge Ram 1500 was eastbound on Morrell Avenue, approaching Monroe Avenue. The boy was on the sidewalk, on the south side of Morrell.
For unknown reasons, the five-year-old ran out into the street in front of the Dodge Ram.
The driver did not see the boy and dragged him with the front of the truck.
The boy was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.
The driver and passenger were not injured.
