KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 9-year-old boy is dead and three others are injured after a Sunday morning crash in Jackson County.
William Wells, 31, of Leavenworth, was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 50 at Lovers Lane and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. He pulled into the path of a 2004 Ford, driven by Riley Greevebiester, 28, of Wichita.
Wells, driving a 2010 Dodge, hit the driver's side of the Ford, ejecting the 9-year-old boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was not wearing a seat belt, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
Another 9-year-old boy, from Wichita, suffered minor injuries. Wells and a 12-year-old boy both suffered moderate injuries.
