KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police were in a standoff with a man for nearly eight hours before officers were able to get him out of the home in the 5500 block of Oakley early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the home on Oakley about 6:00 p.m. Friday in regards to a suicidal person.
Police were able to contact the man, but he refused to exit the home.
Negotiators were called, and discussions began.
Officers believe the man was the only person in the home at the time.
About 1:30 Saturday morning officers entered the home and took the man into custody.
He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
No injuries were reported.
