KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A caravan of suspected ATM thieves from Kansas City, Missouri, were captured Friday after a police chase in south Texas.

The men allegedly stole all of the cash boxes from an ATM about 5:30 a.m. Friday at the Chase Bank near East 63rd Street and The Paseo, according to a KCPD spokesman.

About 11 hours later, Houston police spotted a vehicle matching the ATM burglary description in Huntsville, Texas.

Officers discovered two other vehicles were traveling in a convoy with the primary suspect's vehicle, according to a Montgomery County (Texas) Sheriff's Department news release.

After authorities in Texas attempted to stop the vehicles, one pulled over but the other two fled.

Two men were arrested in the vehicle that stopped without incident

During the ensuing chase, the second suspect vehicle overturned on Interstate 45. Two more suspects in that vehicle were arrested.

Three suspects bailed out of the third vehicle in Harris County, Texas, and fled on foot, but the trio were all captured by Houston police.

All seven men were taken to the Montgomery County jail for holding as the investigation continued. No charges have been filed yet.

KCPD could not say how much money was taken from the ATM.
