At least two shot downtown Sunday morning

UPDATE 2: FEBRUARY 24, 10:15 A.M. -  Police say officers were called to a disturbance in the 800 block of Walnut. Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim lying on the floor of the bar. He was transported in critical condition.

A short time later, a second victim arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle in serious condition.

It's unknown what led up to the shootings.

Another shooting victim arrived at a local hospital a short time ago with minor injuries, who says he was shot at a different location, and it's believed he is not involved in the 8th & Walnut shooting.

 

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 24 8:30 A.M.  Police say at least three people have been shot, two with life-threatening injuries. 

Apparently the shooting happened inside Stanford's Comedy Club, following a gathering for one of the victim's birthdays. 

Witnesses are talking to police, but no suspect description has been released.

A block of Walnut was shut down for about two hours as the investigation got underway.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - At least one man was shot at 8th & Walnut shortly after 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

Police were called  to 813 Walnut about 6:20 on a shooting.

Initially there was some confusion as to whether the shooting occurred at Stanford's Comedy Club, or the parking garage next door.

A large police contingent responded to the scene.

One man was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

A short time later another victim showed up at North Kansas City Hospital, but police aren't yet sure if the two are related.

Investigators cordoned off a large crime scene, and closed about a block of Walnut street as the investigation began.

No suspect information has been released.
