KANSAS CITY, Mo. — While some families sat around the dinner table at home on Thursday, others treated their pets to a Thanksgiving meal.

Bar K Dog Bar in Kansas City, Missouri, wanted to provide a place for owners and their pets to celebrate the holiday together.

The restaurant and bar offered meals for $15 a person, feeding both the owners and their dogs.

"Thanksgiving is a time when you can get family together. Of course the dog more so than ever has become part of the family, and we thought we'd celebrate by inviting people to come out and bring their best friends and their family members out here, including the dogs," David Hensley, co-owner of Bar K, told 41 Action News.

Bar K offered turkey sausage, beer whiskey biscuits and even Betty Rae's ice cream for the dogs.

The options for humans included a turkey sloppy joe, white bean chili and pretzel bites with beer cheese.
