An ammonia leak at the Belfonte Ice Cream plant in Kansas City forced the business and surrounding businesses to evacuate on Thursday morning.
The Kansas City Fire Department responded to the hazmat call around 8 a.m. at 18th Street and Brooklyn. An hour later, crews stopped the leak and workers were let back in, according to officials.
No injuries were reported.
