Belton police investigate after 2 homes shot several times, no one injured

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Belton police officers are investigating after a car and two homes were shot at overnight. 

On July 31 at 9:30 p.m., officers were sent to the 500 block of Stacey Drive on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found a car and an occupied residence had been shot multiple times. No one in the home was injured. Belton police learned a white sedan was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting. 

That same night around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Carnegie on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found a home had been shot multiple times. No one inside the home was hurt. Officers said a white sedan was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting. 

On August 1 at 12:40 a.m., a Belton police officer saw a white Lexus bearing a temporary license plate in the area of 58 Highway and Y Highway. The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled and drove north on I-49 into Grandview where officers lost sight of it and stopped their pursuit. 

The Belton Police Department is investigating the shootings.
