KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Blue Springs High School student was struck by a car while crossing the street Friday morning.
According to police, the senior was crossing Northwest Ashton Drive outside of the school on her way to class.
She was walking outside of a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her around 7:07 a.m.
The student was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the driver stayed on the scene of the incident and is not cited at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
