LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- A Blue Springs woman was killed in a crash after hitting a deer on I-470 Sunday morning.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Mindy M. Jacobs, 37, was driving eastbound on I-470 near Colbern Rd. when she hit a deer.
Jacobs' vehicle traveled off the roadway, struck the guardrail twice and overturned. Jacobs was ejected from the vehicle.
She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to the crash report, she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
