KCPD investigating homicide after body found near 11th and MLK Boulevard

Update as of 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 13: The homicide victim was identified as 50-year-old Aaron Bayliss of Kansas City, Missouri. He died from a gunshot wound.

Police do not have a suspect in custody, and anyone with information should call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

Previous: Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating a suspicious death as a homicide after a body was found lying in the grass on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to 11th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 3 p.m. after a dead body was found in the area. A man was found dead from a gunshot wound.

Police on Wednesday identified the man as 50-year-old Aaron Bayliss of Kansas City, Missouri.

Police said there are no suspects in the case, but since it is a heavily trafficked area, they are hopeful someone knows something.
