Body found in Overland Park lake

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A body was found floating in a lake at West 95th Street and Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park on Tuesday morning, police said.

The man's body was found around 7 a.m. His shirt and flip flops were found on the shore of the small lake.

A dive team worked to recover the body.

Police said the man is black and between 25 and 35 years old. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs between 230 and 250 pounds. He has black hair and a black beard.

Police were not sure if the death was suspicious and launched a death investigation. A medical examination is pending.
