KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Boeing 737 Max 7 was part of a “touch-and-go” take-off and landing Monday at Kansas City International airport.

The event was part of Boeing’s testing program, according to a post on KCI’s Facebook page.

Boeing 737 Max 7s have been flying to “various airports” since Feb. 7 to perform “engineering flights with the updated software,” according to a statement released by Boeing.

“These non-commercial test flights – with a small test team on board – will exercise short- and long-haul flights, seeking out weather and altitude conditions that will help satisfy specific test conditions for the updated software,” the statement read. “These are not certification flights. With safety as our highest priority, we are working with regulators to appropriately address all certification requirements and safely return the 737 MAX to service.”
