KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A boil advisory that was issued Sunday night for several towns in eastern Jackson County, Missouri, was lifted Tuesday afternoon.

The boil advisory, which was caused by a broken fire hydrant, effected the towns of Buckner, Sibley and Levasy.

There was no word on where the broken fire hydrant is located, but customers were advised to boil all water used for drinking and cooking for the next 72 hours, according to a release Sunday.

The water contractor, Wilson Jones, announced shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday that the advisory has been ended.
