KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hundreds of flu shots were given for free Saturday in Kansas City, Kansas, and Shawnee.
Mercy and Truth Medical Missions hosted its free flu shot event, Boo to the Flu, at its KCK clinic and at Trailridge Middle School in Shawnee.
Each site had 200 flu shots, 200 free turkeys and 200 free hoodies.
The nonprofit Lucy’s Kids for Peace gave away toys in Shawnee, while the Rotary Club of Shawnee distributed children’s coats at no cost.
More than 200 food boxes were available in KCK.
Both sites ran out of flu shots.
