Remember Daniel Serres? He's the Independence teen who started his own sock business and got the endorsement of a lifetime from none other than Royals catcher Salvador Perez.
Serres told 41 Action News Thursday that his business is now booming because of the endorsement from the World Series Champions.
Serres came up with the idea to make custom socks for his entrepreneur youth class.
“I went to a basketball game, and I realized that a lot of the girls wore just whatever socks they had on that day and didn't really go with, like, the whole uniform," said Serres.
From there the 17-year-old’s business, DA Socks, took off. Serres started selling the socks online and at Empanada Madness, where he works part-time. It was at the restaurant that Perez did a little advertising work for him.
