Businesses along U.S. Route 24 near Sterling Avenue were forced prepare for another round of rain Friday after already seeing flooding Thursday.

The owner of Fairmount Liquor, Thelma Jordan, says flooding has been a problem for the past three years after part of the sewer system broke. She says no one has given her a clear answer about who should fix the problem.

“I’m miserable every time it rains. I’m afraid this is going to happen because I told them all, 'It’s just a matter of time 'til it happens again.' It’s blocked. Everything pools here,” said Thelma Jordan.

A nearby car wash, Wet Wash, was forced to protect its equipment and prepare for another round of rain.

"The equipment for the car wash is automatic, and we just put it in, so we got to try keep it all dry," said Billy Mansell with Wet Wash.
