KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Officials in the Hickman Mills School District are trying to learn why some students fell ill.
A district spokeswoman said the district learned of the illnesses Monday morning and are investigating whether a cannabis-infused food product might be the cause.
A police report indicates two students at the Hickman Freshman Center complained of an upset stomach after eating brownies given to them by a friend at the school on March 28.
The district says they are working with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department to figure out how the product got to the students.
