KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The last time the Kansas City Chiefs won a home playoff game, some fans were so young they could barely walk.

Saturday night, the curse was broken.

Some fans said earlier Saturday they knew the 25-year curse would end.

"That ends today, that ends today,” Chiefs fan Fed Clark said.

Fans said this year is special because of the Chiefs' explosive offense and with MVP hopeful Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.

"Today we got that monkey off our back. I can’t even tell you how awesome it feels," longtime fan Kelly Pollard said. "Greater than you can ever imagine."

Pollard and her family have been season ticket holders since the last time the Chiefs won a playoff game at home in 1993.

Now, her eyes are on Atlanta.

"We are on the road to the Super Bowl," Pollard said. "We are all going, any squad any place, we got it. Go Chiefs."

First, the Chiefs must win the AFC Championship game next weekend. They'll host the winner of Sunday's Chargers-Patriots game.
