KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Many city services will be affected Wednesday due to the Chiefs Kingdom Champions Parade.

Kansas City, Missouri, notified residents on Tuesday that hundreds of its employees will “shift” responsibilities for the parade, which begins at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Trash, recycling and bulk-item collection will shift one day later than usual because those workers will be cleaning up after the parade.

Any inspections that initially were planned for Wednesday will be moved to Thursday. Public offices at City Hall will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hearings at Kansas City Municipal Court have been canceled, but the building itself will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.

The city’s Health Department will close its main building and parking lots on Troost Avenue but will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
