KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Gehrig Dieter just made a Kansas City couple very happy.
Wednesday morning, the Chiefs wide receiver took to Twitter to issue a challenge. The winner would win two tickets to the AFC Championship game on Sunday.
To qualify to win, fans had to donate any amount to any Chiefs player's charity, then send Dieter a screenshot and explain why he should pick them.
In the end, Dieter selected Oscar and Sandra Garcia and used Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill to help deliver the good news.
Sandra Garcia replied on Twitter saying she and her husband are in tears. The two promised to be very loud at Arrowhead Stadium come Sunday.
Omg! Me and my husband are literally in tears! I wish someone would have recorded our reaction! Thank you all so much, I promise we will be LOUD!! Let’s f*n GO!!!! ❤️💛❤️💛🏈😭— Sandra Garcia (@SandraG29778223) January 17, 2020
Dieter said over $2,000 was raised in just over 24-hours.
Dieter is a member of the Chiefs practice squad who has moved on and off the main roster throughout the season.
