KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Chillicothe, Missouri, man died in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon in Ray County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said 63-year-old Jerry Kissick was killed in the crash on MO-13 north of East 116th Street.

That’s just north of Richmond, Missouri.

MSHP said the crash happened when a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado tried to pass a car and crossed the center line into the path of Kissick’s 2014 Harley Davidson.

Troopers reported the driver of the truck overcorrected and went off the right side of the road.

It returned to the road, but traveled back into the motorcycle’s path and struck Kissick’s bike from behind.

Kissick was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He had been wearing a helmet, according to MSHP.

The driver of the truck didn’t suffer any injuries.
