KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Good Shepard Community of Christ Church in Kansas City is trying to identify two people who broke into the church early Wednesday morning.

Youth Pastor Aaron Wilson posted the two photos on his Facebook page. Wilson said the church, located at 4341 Blue Ridge Boulevard, does not want to prosecute them, but would like to find the man and woman involved and offer them help.

"I'm a story person. I want to know who you are, what you've done and why you are where you're at," said Wilson.

Just after 2 a.m. Wednesday, surveillance footage captured two people entering the church from the basement door. Wilson said they were inside the church for about one hour before sounding off the alarm in the sanctuary. The video shows the two running out the basement door with coats in hand. There was also a third person captured on video leaving the church building.

"It was kind of startling to find out that two people came in this door and three people left, so there had to be some person, the third person actually in the building at some time, how they got in is unrenounced to me," said Wilson.

The church has dealt with break-ins in the past. Kansas City Police said churches, like any other business that's unoccupied in the overnight hours, can be an easy target. Wilson said all of the church doors have been checked and secured and more security cameras will be installed.
