UPDATE, 10/17 | The man sought by investigators has turned himself in, city officials said Wednesday morning.
A city spokesman said the man called the city's dump hotline and identified himself.
The spokesman also said the man returned to the site and cleaned up the mess.
EARLIER | KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Investigators with the Kansas City, Missouri illegal dumping department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a serial dumper.
A city spokesperson said the dumper has visited the same site, 12201 N. Mersington Ave. three times: Aug. 27, Oct. 5 and Oct. 12.
Each time, the dumper’s car didn’t have any front license plate, and surveillance equipment wasn’t able to capture the rear license plate.
Investigators are looking for a man possibly wearing a Mizzou hoodie, driving a blue Toyota pick-up truck with a Missouri license plate on the back but no plate visible on the front.
