Just before 11:30 a.m., Clay County deputies were called to Fishing River Township near the Cooley Lake Conservation Area on a vehicle in the river.
A fisherman reported seeing a vehicle in the water.
Clay County deputies then contacted the Missouri Highway Patrol Water Patrol.
Cpl. Jon Bazzano, of the Clay County Sheriff's Department, said officials have known of a vehicle in the river in that area years ago, and the department would occasionally get calls when the river level was low.
It's not known if it's the same vehicle or a different vehicle at this time.
The Highway Patrol Water Patrol is on scene investigating.
