KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Clay County sheriff’s deputies responded to zebras — yes, zebras — on the loose Friday.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jon Bazzano tweeted a picture of the animals, which were found on Missouri 92 and Cameron Road, between Kearney and Excelsior Springs.
.@kcpolice we see your 🐮 on the loose call earlier this month, and raise you some 🦓 out on the run today. #Sheriffin pic.twitter.com/C014BnmuLN

Bazzano said the sheriff's office was notified about the zebras before 7 a.m. Friday, and they were quickly returned to their home.
Last week, the Kansas City Police Department posted a video of officers engaging in a "pursuit" with two steers in the Northland. Bazzano tagged KCPD in his tweet, joking that the sheriff’s office raised police "some zebras out on the run today.”
