KANSAS CITY, Mo. — UPDATE, 3:54 p.m., Oct. 12 | Lexus Perkins has been located and is safe.

ORIGINAL STORY | The Clay County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to locate a missing 16-year-old girl.

Lexus Perkins was last seen Sunday in the Smithville area wearing a black Smithville Warriors shirt with a handprint on the back, black shorts, black socks and black sandals.

She is 5'7", weighs 195 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

The sheriff's office said she told a relative between noon and 1 p.m. that she was going for a walk.
