KANSAS CITY, Mo. — United Auto Workers members at the General Motors Fairfax plant and plants across the country have been on strike, picketing around the clock for 11 days.

But that may be coming to an end very soon.

According to CNBC, the UAW vice president wrote a letter to members stating that progress is happening and that unsettled proposals are now at the main table.

Having issues at the "main table" and not in subcommittees is usually a sign that an agreement could soon be reached.

The main issues addressed are better benefits, use of temporary workers and keeping plants open.

After a deal is settled, the union has to take the agreement to the GM-UAW council, where members have to approve it.

That process can take roughly two weeks, but it could happen sooner if UAW decides to strike during the proposal process.

Negotiations will continue Thursday morning.
