County officials announced Wednesday they have called off the annual July 4 fireworks show at Longview Lake, a release from the county said.
In a phone call with 41 Action News, a Jackson County spokesperson said the cancelation was at least partly due to budget concerns.
"We will be putting this event on hold while we focus our time and resources on our many other events, including this year's 30th Annual Christmas in the Park Celebration," the release said.
It's unclear how long the hiatus for the popular fireworks show will last.
