KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two Lansing, Kansas, residents died Tuesday when their car ran off Kansas Highway 5 in Leavenworth County and into a tree, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
About 1:15 p.m., a 2005 Dodge vehicle driven by SaraKay Snell, 36, was traveling south on the highway, according to a crash report. The car went off the road to the right and Snell tried to gain control of the car, but the vehicle went south in the northbound lane of the highway.
The car went off the road again and hit a tree northwest of Marxen Road, the report said.
The crash killed Snell and her passenger, 19-year-old Calob Crow.
Snell and Crow were wearing their seat belts, according to the report.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
