KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An internet outage affecting parts of Kansas and Missouri also impacted operations at Kansas City International Airport for several hours on Monday.
Around 11 a.m., the airport tweeted that a fiber line had been cut.
A local Internet Service Provider has reported a fiber cut that is affecting parts of MO & KS. Some airlines at @KCIAirport are impacted & delays may occur. Travelers are urged to check in & obtain printed or digital boarding passes prior to arriving at the airport.

The airport warned that the outage could cause delays, and its website was offline for a while as part of the outage. Travelers were encouraged to check the status of their flights on airlines' websites and to bring their printed or digital boarding passes with them to the airport.
A CenturyLink spokesperson said the company was aware of reports of a fiber cut and the technical team was investigating. The company later said that the fiber cut occurred in Kansas City, Missouri.
“On Oct. 28, some customers in Kansas and Missouri experienced a disruption in services due to a fiber cut that was caused by a construction crew. All services have been restored.”
The airport confirmed on Twitter that internet was restored around 3 p.m., and most airlines were back online.
