KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A driver hit and killed a pedestrian walking across 71 Highway early Monday morning, according to police.
Sgt. Bill Mahoney said a person driving southbound reported a man walked in front of her.
Paramedics took the 51-year-old Kansas City man to the hospital where he later died.
Crews were diverting traffic off 71 Highway near 53rd Street. Both southbound lanes of the highway were closed until about 6:15 a.m.
Police did not immediately identify anyone involved in the incident.
