KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The driver of a gray Dodge Avenger was killed after hitting a large tree near 51st Street and Cleveland Avenue early Saturday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 12:33 a.m. Saturday.
Investigators said the Dodge was traveling north on Cleveland. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway to the right and hit a very large tree.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Impairment is suspected.
