A 19-year-old woman continued to recover on life support at a hospital on Monday, a day after being shot near a house party on Elmwood Avenue.
Police were also still looking for whoever was responsible.
The shooting happened around 3 a.m. on Sunday. According to police, neighbors reported hearing around 30 shots fired. Several cars were seen with heavy damage from the gunfire, including shattered windows and windshields.
The woman who hosted the party said the victim was likely heading to the gathering when the shots started.
The woman, who only wanted to be identified as "Sidney," continued to fear for her safety on Monday since the gunman was still on the loose.
"Some people went to prom. Some people were coming back from college," she explained. "Everybody's life was in danger. Mine, my friends, even people I didn't know."
The shooting started in the area around George Washington Carver School, only about a half block from the house party.
"It could've been more than one person, more than one casualty," Sidney said. "A day and a half later, it's still scary trying to figure out what happened."
Victoria Stirgus lives around two blocks from where the shooting began. She said on Sunday morning she could hear gunfire and cars speeding down her street.
She said the whole street was a crime scene since investigators found bullets on the street outside her home.
"It was just like three different sets of guns," Stirgus explained. "You could hear the cars shooting up onward, just running up onward."
On Monday, police said they were going over interviews and looking for any surveillance video to help in the search for whoever was responsible for the shooting. According to an investigator, police had no leads on any suspects as of Monday afternoon.
Stirgus said she hopes police find whoever is responsible soon.
"If his parents are listening right now, talk to your child and tell them to turn themselves in because there is someone who is about to lose their life," she said.
The family of the victim has asked police not to release her name.
