KANSAS CITY, Mo. — UPDATE, 2:24 p.m., Aug. 25 | The victim, driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, has been identified as Anthony Hunter, 50.
ORIGINAL STORY | A fatal crash occurred Sunday around 4:30 p.m. at the traffic light at 31st and Cleveland Avenue.
A white Pontiac Grand Prix was headed southbound on Cleveland and ran the red light.
In doing so, the Pontiac hit a tan Chevrolet Silverado that was headed east on 31st and had the green light.
After the vehicles collided, the Chevrolet struck a large metal traffic pole.
The driver of the Chevrolet was then ejected from his vehicle, according to Kansas City Police Department Accident Investigation Section Sgt. Deb Randol.
KCPD dispatch confirmed CPR was performed on scene.
The Chevrolet driver was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The Pontiac driver and passenger were taken to area hospitals and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
