One man is dead after a fight in Englewood Park Thursday night.
Police went to the 900 block of NE Englewood around 10 p.m. on a reported shooting. A man told officers he got into a fight with another man. Police said during the altercation a shooting occurred, killing the other man involved.
According to officials, the deceased male was identified as Tevin McCray, 18, of Kansas City, Missouri.
41 Action News spoke with a woman who said she was held at gunpoint. She said her friend shot the man to save her life.
“He saved my life. If it wasn't for him, I would have died. The guy could have shot me,” she said. "I have anxiety attacks right now, pretty bad, because now I’m just scared to go out in public.”
The man is in police custody and being questioned as police try to determine the chain of events that led to the shooting.
