OSAWATOMIE, Kan. – Crews with the Osawatomie Volunteer Fire Department searched the Marais des Cygnes River this weekend for a man missing since Jan. 10th.

Benjamin “Ben” Wolf, 52, was last seen in the area of the 8th St. Bridge near the 34300 block of Plumb Creek Rd. in Osawatomie.

Community members say Wolf is homeless and his belongings were found by the river nearby.

They say he is a familiar face around town, and many people are worried for his safety.

This weekend, crews used drones and dogs to search the area nearby. They also searched under the ice of the nearby river with cameras and sonar.

As of Sunday night, there’s still no sign of Wolf.

Wolf is described as 5-feet, 7-inches tall and about 175 pounds with blue eyes. He is balding with gray hair and usually wears a ball cap.

Anyone with information on Wolf’s disappearance or whereabouts is asked to call Detective Douglass or Detective Brown with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office at 913-294-3232.
