KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A house in northeast Kansas City, Missouri, was destroyed in a fire Monday morning.

The house was located near East 10th Street and Ewing Avenue.

A KCFD ambulance crew responding to a call in the area noticed the fire and called it in.

Photos from the scene show very little of the structure remaining after the blaze.

KCFD said the house had been vacant for six to eight years and was a frequent problem spot for squatters. They said the did not locate anyone inside.

The two homes on either side of the fire were also damaged.

One house had its siding melt off from the heat.

The other home caught fire and an investigator will now have to determine if that home can still be occupied.

The scene was cleared just before 7 a.m.
