Fire forces four people from Overland Park home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two adults and two children were forced from a burning Overland Park home this morning.

Overland Park firefighters credit smoke alarms for alerting the family to an early morning fire at the home in the 162nd block of Juniper Street.

Crews from Overland Park, Leawood and Johnson County Fire District #2 responded to the scene just after 6 a.m.

It took firefighters about an hour an a half to fully put out the flames.

No injuries are reported.

Damage to the home is significant. The residents will be staying with neighbors.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
