According to reports, KCFD crews were called out around 7 p.m. to 340 Ward Parkway, the Seasons 52 Restaurant, on a report that the grill hood at the restaurant was on fire.
The first arriving crews reported smoke and a plume of fire from the roof of the building.
Those in the restaurant were evacuated while fire crews put out the blaze, which was listed under control as of about 7:50 p.m.
Patrons were evacuated from the restaurant, but no injuries have been reported.
Police and emergency crews have also temporarily blocked off roads, until the situation is under control.
