KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people are awaiting charges following a vehicle pursuit on Sunday.

The Clinton County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook Sunday night that a pursuit with a black Dodge Challenger began in Livingston County but entered Cameron.

The vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office, drove south on Interstate 35 into oncoming traffic, exceeding speeds of 100 miles per hour. The driver then began driving with traffic, reaching speeds of 150 miles per hour.

A pursuit continued as the driver left the interstate, heading west on 116 Highway, “driving head-on into traffic at speeds of 120 miles per hour,” the sheriff’s office stated, ending in Plattsburg.

Firearms and narcotics were found in the vehicle, as well as “items for the distribution of narcotics,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Cameron, Lathrop, Plattsburg and Gower police departments assisted in the pursuit.
