Kansas City firefighters put out a fire at an apartment building Friday morning.
Firefighters said only one unit was affected in the 6-unit building on the 3200 block of Windsor in Kansas City, Missouri. The one person who lived in the unit will be displaced.
A resident who lives in the building was awake and able to get other residents out.
One woman who lived in the building was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
A fire investigator said a mattress caught fire. They are still investigating how it caught fire.
