KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The area's first medical marijuana dispensary is set to open this Monday.

The Lee's Summit location of fresh.green dispensary will open its doors on Monday, October 19 at noon. The dispensary will carry locally cultivated flower, and plans to eventually offer edibles and lab-tested manufactured THC products. Selection is limited now as there are few cultivators currently operating.

"fresh.green looks forward to continuing to grow our inventory for patients as our industry partners are approved,” said Bianca Sullivan, dispensary owner. “It’s amazing to see this industry come to life with so much support throughout the state.”

60 cultivation facilities have been licensed in Missouri, but only nine are currently approved to operate.

This is the first fresh.green dispensary with medical marijuana to open west of St. Louis in Missouri. The business can only sell to Missouri patients who have received their patient care card from the state. Patients must bring a government-issued photo ID, copy of their patient card, and cash or debit cards for purchases. Masks are required for entry. Discounts are available for veterans, seniors and low-income patients.

The Lee's Summit location is at 1041 NE Sam Walton Lane. A second location on Wornall Road in Kansas City is under construction.

Medical marijuana sales began Saturday across the state.
