On Thursday, about four feet of water rushed inside the Harrisonville Trade Fair Mall, damaging items for 200 vendors.
Lani Cook knew the flooding in Cass County was bad. What she didn't know was that her business was also underwater.
"We've had several players down here to look at it. Now it's all lost," said Cook.
Cook and her husband own the Harrisonville Trade Fair Mall, but their pride and joy is their huge sports memorabilia room.
The flood waters damaged dozens of their prized possessions.
"All autographs from wall to wall. From the good ole days with Babe Ruth to the Royals,” Cook said. “We had two walls for the Royals and Chiefs."
Cook can't focus on her memorabilia. She has 200 vendors who lost a lot as well.
"A lot of them, this is their job. This is the only income they have coming in,” Cook said.
She said it will take at least a month to get back up and running.
As crews continue to clean, Cook said in the midst of a terrible situation, the support from the community helps her stay positive.
"Vendors and customers have stepped up to the plate,” Cook said. “They come in. They take shifts, they are coming in to help clean."
