KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The former owner of El Patron restaurant, who was accused of raping two women, pleaded guilty Wednesday to lesser charges, according to court records.

Arturo Cabral, 47, pleaded guilty in Jackson County Court to felonious restraint and attempted felonious restraint. He had been charged with three counts of rape.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

According to court documents, a woman told police she met Cabral at a bar near the Country Club Plaza in November 2015. She said she later woke up naked in a motel room and could not remember how she got there.

In August 2016, another woman reported being sexually assaulted by Cabral. The woman, who was at Cabral’s house to visit his daughter around her age, said she lost her memory and woke up with Cabral on top of her.

Cabral had owned and managed El Patron on Southwest Boulevard until he broke ties with the restaurant in 2016.
